i love the choice of color for water-- it's very realistic, as opposed to the typical blues and purples. you have great movement through the piece. the overflow line towards the top creates a lot of movement and really captures water's "fluidity," so to speak.

one thing i really like is that the light is coming from the right on the stream of water, but it's coming from the left on your face. most people say that it's confusing, but i think it creates depth and gives the piece a layered effect. if the light had been coming all from one angle, it would have made the piece really dull and obvious and not as visually interesting. it gives you more things to look at, and it makes some of the details more subdued and not as readily noticeable. if you continue to use this same kind of tehcnique in your more surreal works, it will be the kind of painting that will make people enjoy looking twice.

i enjoyed looking twice at this one.

the "soul" is pure potential, like open space or silence with weight to it. the soul is open and ready to recieve.
fill me, heavy silence.
fill me, loud sound.
fill me, black void.

You have pretty eyes. This is probably the most creative self portrait I've ever seen. :)
